Extreme racing may be nothing new to gamers nowadays, but 2XL Games has been doing it since before the term was even popular. Getting their start on games like the popular Motocross Madness in the late 90’s, and then later the ATV Offroad Fury series, the minds at 2XL might just know extreme off-road gaming better than anybody.

Two-dimensional platformers hold a special place in my heart, mainly because I'm a child of the 80’s and grew up playing them. I also played a lot of 2D racing games on my Nintendo Entertainment System when I was a kid. So when I started playing Monorace – a new racing platformer that allows player to change their personal gravity on the fly – I was actually pretty excited from the get-go. Craneballs has produced a fine title that will likely entertain anyone who's a fan of fun.

Racing games that succeed tend to fall into two different categories: arcade-style games such as the Mario Kart series, and simulation games like the Gran Turismo games. The two styles are very different both in terms of how they play and the audience they appeal to. MotoGP 2010 attempts to straddle the line between the two styles, resulting in a game that, while solid, doesn’t quite seem sure of who it’s meant to appeal to.

Ever since Wave Race 64 came out way back in 1996, I've been a fan of Jet Ski racers. There's just something awesome about cutting and slicing through the waves. After all, if it’s done well, how is racing on a flat track anywhere near as fun and catching and riding a wave? Luckily, Aqua Moto 2 delivers and captures that awesome feeling of tearing though the waves.

Cie Games has quietly released Car Town on Facebook. Hundreds of games launch on Facebook each week, but this game is different in that it does not involve a farm, a city, or sheep (no sheep yet, at least).

Rather, Car Town is all about collecting, customizing, and racing cars with friends.

When sitting down to review Rocket Racing League I naturally assumed it was based on something fictional. Shockingly enough, my assumption is wrong. While it’s not operating yet, Rocket Racing League is a real thing - something that actually exists on planet Earth. People are looking to race rockets against each other. I love living in the future. But while we’re waiting to race real rockets we can get our fix with the iPhone version.

Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D might have been an early release on the App Store, but that never stopped it from being one of the best. Now nearly two years later, the series has returned with new maps, better visuals, and online multiplayer. Put on your seatbelts, kids – kart racing on the iPhone has never been this much fun!
